Galaxy Hotspots are vocal reproduction monitors. They are specifically designed to give faithful reproduction in the high to mid frequency range (typically 80Hz - 18kHz). They were developed in 1977 by Galaxy Audio's founders working with touring musicians who recognised the need for a dedicated vocal monitor that did not reproduce unwanted bottom end frequencies. The main PA does that already for front of house. Most bands use 12 or 15 inch floor wedges for foldback but to get the right sound and volume level they roll off the bottom end and crank up the volume so that they can actually hear the sound coming from the floor. This usually results in feedback
